Ten Mason High School choral students were recently selected for the District XIII OMEA Honor Choir. These students include: Alex Baruk, Jessica Bennett, Jonathan Hardy, Megan Maloney, Madison Owens, Ana Perez, Alex Petersman, Claudia Scully, Stephen Springsteen, and Christopher Stehm.
"This is a significant honor for these talented students," noted Elaine Santos, MHS Choir Director.
Joshua Vonderhaar, a Mason High School junior, will join 99 other elite musicians from across the nation as part of Music for All’s National Honor Band of America. Vonderhaar, who began playing the trombone in Mason’s sixth grade band program, was selected from hundreds of applicants from across the country for membership in this prestigious honors ensemble. The honor will culminate in a trip-of-a-lifetime to Pasadena, CA, where Vonderhaar and the Honor Band will march in the Tournament of Roses parade in January 2013.
